Wines by the Glass – Each week we offer a changing, curated selection of wines from small producers around the world for you to sample by the glass…and over 200 different wines by the bottle!
Whether you are seeking out a familiar favourite, the latest pet-nat, orange, vegan or minimal intervention wine, or simply looking for fresh and exciting new flavours, we are sure to have something to indulge you. We know that the world of wine can be a tricky one to navigate and so our knowledgeable staff are always happy to offer recommendations too.
Food – On our nibbles menu you will find a range of simple, but delicious, small dishes to accompany your wine… from a cheese board supplied by The Keswick Cheese Deli to our now famous cheesy nachos with fresh tomato salsa and signature pea and avocado guacamole.
Shop – Our wide and ever-evolving range of wines by the bottle provide us with perfect floor to ceiling decoration. Whether you are looking for the ideal accompaniment for your next dinner party dish, a gift, or just something to make tonight’s tea feel special, come and browse our wine walls.
Wine Tastings
Wine Flights – Each of our weekly ‘Wines by the Glass’ are available in 75ml taster sizes and we offer wine flights with three tasters for a special price of £12.50, so you can create your own personal wine tasting. Stop by whenever you’re in the mood—no need to book, just come on in and enjoy!
Wine Tasting – If you are looking for something a bit more interactive, we also offer guided wine experiences for groups of 2 or more anytime during our opening hours. Booking in advance for these tastings is essential, especially for larger groups.
Our guided tastings feature 6 wines, from our ‘Wines by the Glass’ menu. Typically, you’ll enjoy a sparkling wine, two whites, and three reds. If you have any preferences or dietary needs, just let us know in advance.
And of course, what’s wine without cheese? We’ve partnered with The Keswick Cheese Deli and can offer a delightful selection of local cheeses, to pair perfectly with our wines, if you wish.

Private Wine Tastings
Looking for a unique way to celebrate a birthday, hen do, or a get-together with friends? We can bring the tasting to you.
We’ll provide the glasses, tasting mats and 6 hand-picked wines that will take your taste buds on a journey. A mix of bubbles, whites, and reds, which can be paired with some delicious cheeses on request. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just love a good glass of vino, our private tastings are designed to be fun, informative, relaxed, and tailored to your group.
Private tastings are subject to obtaining a Temporary Events Notice if the venue is not licensed so notice is vital. The TEN costs £80 which will be incorporated into the cost per person. Please get in touch for a quote.

The perfect gift for wine lovers; Lake District Wine vouchers are available in any amount and can be used for wine tastings, food and drinks to enjoy in-store, or on wine to enjoy at home.
Vouchers can be collected in store, posted or e-mailed. Send us a request through the form below with the value of gift voucher you’d like, your name and if you’d like it posted, emailed or to collect in store. International Wine Tasting
Hungarian Night
With roots in Eger, Hungary, Zoltan and Orsi were the perfect pair to guide us through the wine and food delights that this fantastic country has to offer. We enjoyed some wonderful handmade traditional food platters and were taken on an exciting journey through the long history of Hungarian wine making.

Well we think it’s fair to say 80’s night went down an absolute treat!
Confetti cannons, power ballads and prawn cocktails all washed down with delicious versions of some 80’s vino classics such as Blue Nun and Lambrusco.

Big Fish Comedy Night is run by local comics bringing the freshest voices in comedy to venues across Cumbria. The Comedy Club was born in Lake District Wine and it’s so special to see audiences grow at every event. Thanks to our incredible audience and all our amazing acts we’ve welcomed so far.

Bottle Shock – Cinema Wine Tasting
What a great idea and evening – so different to a normal evening out. I was absorbed in the film and then delighted when it stopped (2 or 3 times) to taste the wines. The wine tasting was cleverly linked to the film, and I learnt so much about different wines and the processes of wine making. It was accessible information for a layperson, like myself who just enjoys drinking! By the end I had watched an amusing film, gained some knowledge and felt fairly on the tipsy side – thoroughly enjoyable evening altogether – thank you Jenni.
Private Wine Tasting
Very informative but in a non-invasive way, meaning that we could enjoy our dinner whilst the wine and information flowed, without disruption.
A very relaxed feel and an oppourtunity to learn as much or as little as you want about a selection of wines that we had never tried before.
Makers Mill Wine Tasting
We recently attended a wine tasting by Lake District Wine at the Makers Mill. The experience from start to finish was relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable. We love to drink wine at home, but have limited knowledge on the types of wine available. Jenni introduced us to a wonderful selection of wines, some of which we are now going to have at our wedding! The evening felt very accessible, and the added touch of local cheeses was just perfect. Thank you Jenni, we will definitely be attending another tasting!
About LDW
Jenni has had an affinity for wine since observing her uncle perform his sommelier duties in the family hotel. After completeing a degree in performing arts she then went on to own a small and very popular café bar in the heart of Keswick with her husband James where the wine list became her baby and allowed her to push the boundaries of the local wine offering; even shipping wines directly from Italy to sell in the bar.
Jenni decided to pick up her studies again and gain three WSET qualifications in Wine as well as setting up her own business with an aim to educate people in this vast subject, improve the wine offering in the local area and generally offer fun events where she can talk all day about her favourite subject.
Jenni’s passion for wine is infectious and as the Lake District Wine team grows she has ensured that everyone is encouraged to explore and broaden their unique palate, with a majority of our staff now holding a variety of WSET qualifications. This ensures you will always receive honest, personal and friendly advice whenever you visit us.
